Become a Wrap Master at FESPA 2017
After a series of events around the world, the World Wrap Masters will conclude at FESPA 2017, and excitement is high ahead of the final.
Those familiar with the global competition will be aware of the quality that this popular event attracts. The FESPA World Wrap Masters not only has the ability to showcase some of the best talent in the market, but also offer other members of the industry the opportunity to learn about the art of vehicle wrapping.
Although the various events around the world have been serving as platforms for wrappers to show off their skills, it is the much-anticipated final at FESPA 2017 that looks set to generate the most interest, with many exhibitors expected to drop in on the event at the show.
The FESPA World Wrap Masters final will be taking place in the corner of Hall B4 in the digital area of the exhibition. In addition to seeing competitions in action, those in attendance will be able to find out more about best practice in wrapping at the dedicated FESPA Wrap Demo Area, where specialists will talk visitors through the processes that can help ensure their wrap job meets the expectations of customers.
The final will comprise the six regional winners from qualifiers staged over the past months. José Ramirez Avila won the event in Mexico, Ivan Tenchev from Bulgaria emerged victorious at the Eurasia contest, while Scott Humble of the US won in Asia.
In addition, Simbarashe Mapholisa was declared winner of the regional qualifier in Africa, while Pablo Rivas de Castro from Brazil won the event at FESPA Brasil 2016 and Raphael Bacoccini was victorious at FESPA Brasil 2017.
Away from the World Wrap Masters, visitors looking to gain further insight into process apart from the actual application of wraps may find a number of sessions in this year’s conference programme of use. For example, Graeme Richardson Locke, sales and operations director at Vektor, will focus on colour management in his session at 12:30 on May 11.
During this presentation, visitors will be able to learn more about the key stages; from colour vision testing and software set up, through to equipment calibration, profiling and quality control. Colour is important in all printed work, but when it comes to vehicle graphics, especially when a brand is involved, colour accuracy is critical.
Vehicle graphics are widely regarded not only as one of the key growth areas in the global industry at present, but also one of the most creative. Designers and wrappers alike attempt to push the boundaries of this sector each year, and due to ongoing development of materials and technologies, often succeed.
You can see examples of this in the FESPA’s Top 20 vehicle graphics applications of 2016, and of course find out exactly how these are achieved by visiting FESPA 2017 next month.
