The FESPA Foundation’s work has started! Our first major initiative is to collect printed materials and in-kind donations at FESPA Global Print Expo (6-9 May 2025, Messe Berlin, Germany), for onward distribution to children’s education projects in southern Africa.

We’re asking for active support from the hundreds of exhibitors at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025. It’s very simple for exhibitors to support the Foundation. Rather than producing printed samples for visitors that might be wasted at the end of the show, they will produce specific printed applications such as educational posters, maps, student clothing and backpacks.

We’ll provide a defined set of technical and creative specifications, with guidance from programme partners in southern Africa who understand which items will deliver the most benefit to the children.

When we shared our early concept for the Foundation, the response from our Partner Committee made up of our largest exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive. Many exhibitors have told us how keen they are to channel their exhibition print samples towards good causes. Now we can turn those good intentions into positive action.

Find out how to get involved here.

We’re also asking the thousands of visitors we can expect at the Berlin show to make donations to the FESPA Foundation. These can be ‘in-kind’ donations of items such as used reading glasses, notebooks, pens, art kits or school supplies. Or they can make cash donations, which will go to pay for much needed items like insecticide-treated mosquito nets for malaria prevention, and clean-water drinking straws to minimise waterborne diseases.

The printed materials and donated items that we collect at FESPA Global Print Expo will be transported to South Africa by FESPA’s global logistics partner DSV, who are kindly donating their services.

Once in South Africa, the donations will be distributed via our charity partner, the Kingsley Holgate Foundation. This recognised community charitable organisation was initially established to support malaria prevention, water purification and access to Rite to Sight spectacles for the poor-sighted in Africa. Now it also provides early childhood development and conservation and communities initiatives, among others.
