Bell Printers triumphs at FESPA Awards 2023 for its luxury coffee packaging
Bell Printers won the bronze award at the FESPA Awards 2023 for the 'Luxury Packaging' category with its exquisite entry for Alluveim luxury coffee packaging. Mobin Akash, 3D Designer at Bell Printers discusses this crucial win, their winning entry and the importance of sustainability for this project.
About Bell Printers
Bell Printers is a small third generation family business based in Sivakasi, India, that specialises in luxury packaging. As a social enterprise dedicated to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), Bell Printers has built a reputation on pushing the boundaries of design and production for many Fortune 500 companies.
The Winning Entry
Bell Printers’ award-winning project was a luxury coffee packaging box for the brand Alluveim. The brief required the packaging to showcase the premium nature of the product while adhering to the sustainability principles of the organisation. The team’s goal was to create a visually striking and tactile packaging solution. They incorporated sustainable materials and production methods to reduce environmental impact.
Materials and Techniques
The box was made using recycled paper board sourced and manufactured locally in Sivakasi, South India. The printing was done on a Heidelberg Speedmaster 102, with die-cutting produced using a Varimatrix machine, and hot-foiling applied with an STM-5000 Foiling machine. The final construction featured concealed magnets for a luxurious touch on thermal Velvet Lamination.
Project Journey
The project was completed in just 15 days, from conception to final packing. One challenge that Bell Printers faced was combining both the luxurious aesthetic with using sustainable materials. The team carefully selected materials and production methods to ensure the product stood out while maintaining eco-friendly practices.
Sustainability Initiatives
Bell Printers is committed to sustainability, constantly exploring different materials and production methods to reduce their environmental footprint. By using fully recycled paper board and optimising production processes to minimise waste, the company demonstrated its dedication to sustainable practices. In addition, the business aims to continuously educate its clients on the importance of sustainable packaging.
Other Creative Endeavours
Beyond their FESPA Awards entry, Bell Printers engages in various creative packaging projects for luxury brands worldwide. They consistently push the boundaries of packaging design and production, working with various Fortune 500 brands.
