Massivit 3D presents new 3D printing technology at FESPA
With a stand boasting vibrant, eye-catching 3D printed sign & display applications, FESPA visitors can discover how to utilise 3D printing technology to produce unique large format 3D displays.
A super-fast large format 3D printer, the Massivit 1800 is set to transform the way high-level marketing, advertising & themed projects are created, according to the company.
With output speeds said to be incomparable to anything else in the 3D printing industry, the Massivit 1800 printer can produce high quality 3D pieces up to 1.8m / 6ft high.
“Following three years of hard work and incredible progress, we are very excited to demonstrate our system at FESPA 2017. In general, 3D print has the flexibility, speed and price point to unlock huge new creative opportunities and drive profitable growth for users, and that is no different for the printing industry," said Massivit 3D chief executive Avner Israeli.
“For print providers, the Massivit 1800 dramatically enhances the ability to create eye-catching added-value visual communications that better engage target audiences. With recent studies suggesting that 3D advertising has five times the stopping power and four times the staying power of 2D advertising, it is clear why this is the technology for sign and display applications," he added.
"The Massivit 1800 is "the 3D printing solution" for print providers, developed by people who have dedicated their careers to delivering market leading large format digital printing equipment.”
“As the leading European trade show for large format print providers, FESPA 2017 is a fantastic platform to showcase how our flagship technology truly sets applications apart from the competition,” said Massivit 3D vice president Marketing development Lilach Sapir.
“Offering flexibility, creativity and unique business proposition, the Massivit 1800 allows print providers to enjoy huge new creative opportunities and drive profitable growth.”
"We expect FESPA visitor reaction to be very positive. Our products enable marketing/brand managers to maximise the impact of their campaigns with a never-before-seen ‘wow factor’. This will be the key to many print service providers being able to expand their business with existing and new customers. We’re ready to help fuel the next large format growth market,” Sapir concluded.
Highlighting how the Massivit 1800 enables the rapid creation of unique eye-catching applications beyond those that can be achieved with 2D large format printing solutions, the showcase of sign and display projects on Massivit’s stand (Stand A4-C20) include:
- An eye-catching illuminated 1.6m-tall (5.2ft) fragrance bottle – illustrating how the technology is transforming the way high-level retail, marketing and advertising projects are created. These objects also exemplify the increased visual impact to better engage target audiences.
- An intricate 1.5m (4.9ft) ‘spilled’ milk carton – emphasising the greater design freedom that print providers can enjoy when creating cutting-edge, bespoke applications. This paves the way for print providers to maintain their competitive edge by differentiating their offering and could potentially future-proof their business while opening the door to the new markets.
- A 3.2m-tall (10.5ft) mythical Greek sculpture – demonstrating the premium, larger-than-life capabilities of the Massivit 1800 3D Printer. Using the technology, print providers can elevate traditional applications to new levels, enabling the production of innovative themed projects, exhibition ‘graphics’ and even up-scaled vehicle wraps.

The importance of ink for large format printers
Ink is crucial for large format inkjet printers, influencing substrate compatibility, productivity, and cost. Nessan Cleary discusses the three main types which include UV-curable ink, latex ink and eco-solvent ink. Each ink type has specific strengths and weaknesses, making printers choice dependent on budget and intended applications.

What are the benefits of Direct-To-Fabric printing?
Direct-to-fabric printing is gaining popularity for high-volume textile production, enabling on-demand, customized short runs. These printers offer ink flexibility, accommodating various fabric types like cotton and silk, though ink development focuses on faster turnaround by reducing pre- and post-processing. Compared to traditional methods, direct-to-fabric inkjet printing is a more sustainable option due to reduced water and chemical usage, and localized production.

What are the opportunities for large format providers regarding digital touch screens?
Digital touchscreens are becoming increasingly common, offering businesses opportunities to improve customer engagement and streamline operations. Nessan Cleary shares, while more expensive to implement than standard digital displays due to complex software and integration needs, touchscreens provide self-service options, multilingual support, and can reduce staffing costs in various settings like retail, transportation, and healthcare.
