Sakurai to launch ‘game changing’ kit at FESPA 2017

Cylinder screen printing machine manufacturer Sakurai has announced that it is to launch its new MS110-DDS production unit at FESPA 2017.

The device, which Sakurai has described as a “game changing” solution, will be unveiled on the opening day of the exhibition on Stand D20 in Hall A4. Company president Mr Sakurai will host the special event at 12pm at visitors interested in attending are advised to arrive early as the event is expected to be extremely popular.

The MS110-DDS features an innovative direct servo drive capable of enhancing print precision, due to a roll-to-roll cylinder mechanism and improved pressure. Sakurai said that this feature will make the machine a “compelling proposition” for all types of screen printing applications.

The new system introduces Sakurai’s technology offering improved sheet edge accuracy with an optional CCD Camera Sheet Alignment System. The system allows for large sheet printing with a maximum sheet size 1,140mm x 788mm, while the printability on thin material and scratch resistance have been enhanced up to a thickness of 75μm.

Claudio Moffa, sales manger for UK and Europe and Sakurai, said: “The introduction of this machine represents a significant step forward for screen printers, as many aspects of production are improved and the direct servo motor improves precision and adds flexibility to production.

“This is our second generation of servo-driven screen printing press, which also introduces our new gearless direct servo technology which enables high quality printing without backlash. These features are already proving very popular with our customers.”

Moffa added: “This amazing system was launched in Japan at our open house in April. The response from our customers has been tremendous. This has already led to a number of orders as the machine adds tremendous productivity, whether you are a graphic printer, a heat transfer printer, or an industrial printer.

“We are excited to be showing this machinery for the first time at FESPA 2017 in May and look forward to the interest that this will generate from existing and new customers. We know that this machinery is a unique and game changing platform that will help to put screen printing innovation back on the map.”

In addition, Sakurai will demonstrate the Oliver-66RCS, a multipurpose post-printing processing machine, and half-cut sticker process.

What are the benefits of Direct-To-Fabric printing?

Direct-to-fabric printing is gaining popularity for high-volume textile production, enabling on-demand, customized short runs. These printers offer ink flexibility, accommodating various fabric types like cotton and silk, though ink development focuses on faster turnaround by reducing pre- and post-processing. Compared to traditional methods, direct-to-fabric inkjet printing is a more sustainable option due to reduced water and chemical usage, and localized production.
