SwissQprint upgrades Nyala and Impala

SwissQprint has launched two new “4x4” flatbed printers that come configured with quadruple CMYK printheads.

The 4x4 models of the Nyala 2 (3.2x2m flatbed) and Impala 2 (2.5x2m flatbed) series are said to retain the same quality as the existing 2xCMYK models, but are around twice as fast.

The UV machines, which are said to be suitable for screen printers as well as booth builders and large-scale digital print firms, can be used to produce high-quality POS items, displays, posters and banners.

The Nyala 2 4x4 model prints at up to 101sqm/hr in quality mode, which the manufacturer said results in “brilliant” colours as well as rendering of fine detail. Fine art mode enables applications such as backlit graphics to be printed at up to 57sqm/hr while the device can print at up to 206sqm/hr in production mode.

The Impala 2 4x4 model prints at up to 180sqm/hr in production mode, 89sqm/hr in quality mode and 51sqm/hr in fine art mode.

Each machine comes with four CMYK print heads, and the colour configuration can be supplemented with an optional white or varnish channel to offer different possibilities, such as the printing of a background or multilayer white or varnish for visual effects.

The company states: “Our characteristic modular design enables users to specify a large-format printer that exactly matches their needs.

“Both UV printers can be equipped with a roll to roll option, or a board option capable of handling media up to four metres long, i.e. twice the print bed depth.

"Productivity-boosting tandem functionality comes as standard.”

Both printers can be equipped with a roll-to-roll option or a board option capable of handling media up to four metres long. Tandem functionality, where media is loaded from either side of the table for non-stop production, comes as standard.

The machines are also compatible with SwissQprint’s automated robot system, Rob. This system facilitates unmanned shifts and helps with longer runs by loading and unloading rigid media onto the printer.

The two new machines are available with immediate effect from SwissQPrint’s UK distributor Spandex

The company is showcasing all of these above mentioned and other innovations in detail at FESPA 2017, from 8-18 May at the Hamburg Messe in Germany.

What are the benefits of Direct-To-Fabric printing?

Direct-to-fabric printing is gaining popularity for high-volume textile production, enabling on-demand, customized short runs. These printers offer ink flexibility, accommodating various fabric types like cotton and silk, though ink development focuses on faster turnaround by reducing pre- and post-processing. Compared to traditional methods, direct-to-fabric inkjet printing is a more sustainable option due to reduced water and chemical usage, and localized production.
