Digital technologies have evolved alongside the retail landscape, where the diversify of printed applications, creative products and innovative materials in use also continues to expand, thus enabling printers to explore new commercial opportunities whilst also enabling established Interior décor print specialists to expand into the Retail sector.
The Retail Interior provides a diverse commercial marketplace for the print community. The choice of printable materials available is wide and varied, and crosses both natural and synthetic substrates from textile to vinyl, glass, ceramic, metal and wood.
In recent Printeriors exhibits we have showcased many applications, materials and technologies, many of which cross industry sectors.
Applications utilised Roll to Roll, Dye Sublimation, Transfer Printing, Flatbed UV and Latex and others. Inks sets spanned Dye Sublimation, Latex, Pigment, UV and Reactive Inks across many applications and materials. Some examples of which are featured below:
Printed acrylic decorative display. Technology: HP Latex 700W
Image courtesy of Image Co: Direct to substrate duplex print technique using HP white ink as the base. The implementation of white ink has unlocked the creativity of latex printing, and expanded the range of materials that can now be printed, including coloured grounds across hard and soft surfaces.
Textile Hangings. Technology Durst P5 TEX iSUB
Courtesy of Durst GMBH: Direct to fabric dye sublimation printing. Fabrics supplied courtesy of Premier Textiles, all bases were polyester, using RPET (recycled) substrates wherever possible.
The Durst P5 TEX iSUB dye-sublimation printer operates with an integrated inline fixation (iSUB) for a 1-step direct to fabrics printing process, removing the need to print onto paper and the heat transfer process.
